History of Anna Bouché
Annette Higbee is the designer behind the classic designs of Anna Bouché. Annette began designing clothing when she received her first sewing machine at the age of eight. It was an old Singer and only went forward and backward but she spent hours designing purses, hats and eventually her own clothing. She has personally sewn thousands of dresses for the young and old, mother/daughter matching outfits, matching family dresses for weddings or family portraits, etc. She has a talent and eye for putting the best fabrics and laces together.
Annette had formal design training at Brigham Young University. Other training came from watching world class seamstresses and pattern designers at work. In 1986 she was selected by H.L. Rockinghorse of Boston to design their own label of children's apparel, this is when she created the label name of Anna Bouché. This incredible experience led her to use classic designs, the best fabrics and European sizing (larger and truer to age than most). Many of these items have traditional flavors, country flairs, and tinges of Victorian and Continental styling. These designs, sizes, fabrics and construction techniques have passed the test of use by thousands of children over the years. Annette has raised nine of her very own children! It's because of her love for kids that she focuses on children's apparel.
